Winter Introduction (Anniversary!)

Rule #307: if you want me to like winter, let it snow

Holy cow! The winter has come! It's been snowing all day long, only stopping for meal breaks.
Ah, you remember I don't like winter much. There's only 4 things which make me smile to winter time:

  1. New Year and all those celebrations (party with the frieeends!!)
  2. Winter holidays - almost fortnight for laziness and craziness.
  3. Winter evenings with snowfalls and street lights. Actually, I adore snowfalls in any time of the day, but in the evening it's especially magical (real big snowflakes, the size of... the eye! The bigger, the better). What about the street lights, so you know during the winter time there are not only just street lamps, but also other decoration, shiny balls and etc. So today on my way to chorus rehearsal my heart melted for that.
  4. And skating with the friends with playing snowballs. Freaking fun!
On my way home after the rehearsal, I was a kinda snowman. Snow was everywhere: on my hair, on my bag, on my eyebrows. Hopefully I moved my legs fast enough not to become a hill in the end.

The Olympiads. Tatto

This Monday, 25.11, the Olympiad week began again. But I'm not about Sochi 2014, but my annual Olympiads for school subjects. Now it's a municipal step. So, on Monday I wrote Russian, yesterday I participated in history, and today's been the English day.

DOCTOR WHO 50th Anniversary

Here it comes.
I've just watched one of the best thing I could only imagine, a kind of things I always love and adore. It makes me cry and feel inspiration. It is "Doctor Who" 50th Anniversary special episode.

Books' Day

Yup, not to leave my Movies' Days all along, I probably add here on more subject day - a day about books. You know my love to reading, so I'll always have something to say. Or write, to be more exact. Today I'll tell you about what I'm fond of nowadays and what I bought lately. Here I go!

15 Metres Of Madness

Yesterday was perfect: we had only 3 lessons instead of 6, and even at the last one we was just talking and watching a video. Today we also chanced not to have all lessons - only 4 of 5. But I've had a mission, a crazy one. And that's how it started...

My Bestest Day

Although the weather sucks, my day can be called amazing. Firstly, today we haven't had a P.E. lesson - it's already a holiday. Also I've paid for the rest of the bills for the public utilities I didn't chance to pay for yesterday (dad's gonna be glad). And the greatest thing is...

We Won't Stop

This week's been pretty crazy with that holy Olympics torch and a concert on Friday, so I really deserved having a pretty lazy day today.

2014 Winter Olympics Torch

Our bearer
Due to the fact that somehow our region is part of Russia, our Shitville is right now having the great honour of having the Olympics torch carried around the city. All my school and I had voluntary-compulsory to watch a torchbearer running.

Time Rolls On

Time rolls on, and it's the 5th day without mom in da house. And when I abide one to one with my dad for a long time (for more than a day), food torture (in the finest sense of the expression) becomes. Something breaks out in the mind of my dad, and the only aim he sees is to feed me. To feed me A LOT. When I don't eat something he's cooked for me or eat just a little, he debates about it in such way I start feeling myself guilty for every sin in the world. Even right now he's just figured out I didn't eat his soup today, and I wish the earth could swallow me up. I'm not about daddy punishes me somehow for not eating enough, but his reactions make me feel myself alone to blame. But it's just food! I know, some people lives to eat and not just eat to live. But all these materials exist just to recharge us with the energy. And if I don't need more energy, why should I put something into my body against my own will? Nevertheless, there's cult of food in my family, and I have to deal with it. But after all, he says "Well, I haven't told a word yet".
Today at our P.E. lesson our teacher decided to make our line finally right and arrange everyone to stand according to the height. I would've never think so, but now I'm... the last in line. It means that without my lovely heels I'm the shortest in our class! Well, I'm not a five-foot-one, I've got pretty ordinary height, but even one my classmatty appears to be taller me for 1-2 cm, and that makes that damn sense! But mama's told me that men must be taller than women, so I give them this opportunity.
Last week I had a concert and this week I'll have one too. Moreover, this week is remarkable for our city because the Olympic flame will be brought to our place. Torchbearers will run with that memorable stick around the city, I hope it won't burnt down at every turning. At least this torch is cool with having been in the Universe. Ain't that cool, mere mortals? Sochi 2014 - much ado about nothing.
Aaaaghr... Nothing to mention, except that my cat tries to eat my left leg and keeps on biting it in one exact place. It hurts.
Lately I stuck to diamond theme. If you don't have an idea what I am talking about (and you really do not), I'm not about Marina And The Diamonds. Recently I started listening to the songs which lyrics are connected with the diamonds: absolutely famous "Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend" by unbelievable Marylin Monroe (OST "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes") and gorgeous "Diamods Are Forever" by fabulous Shirley Bassey (OST "Diamonds Are Forever" James Bond movie, btw). Both songs slightly make hints that love sucks - diamonds rule. Even though I'm pretty young to have real diamonds "round my little finger", there's nothing to pretend me from having simply brilliant songs in my blog as the songs of the day.

The French are glad to die for love,
They delight in fighting duels,
But I prefer a man who lives and gives
Expensive jewels.

A kiss on the hand may be quite continental,
But diamonds are a girl's best friend.
A kiss may be grand,
But it won't pay the rental on your humble flat
Or help you at the automat.
Men grow cold as girls grow old,
And we all lose our charms in the end.
But square-cut or pear shaped these rocks don't lose their shape,
Diamonds are a girl's best friend!

... Tiffany's!
... Cartier!
Black Star, Frost, Gorham!
Talk to me, Harry Winston, tell me all about it!

There may come a time when a lass needs a lawyer,
But diamonds are a girl's best friend.
There may come a time when a hard boiled employer thinks you're awful nice,
But get that ice or else no dice.
He's your guy when stocks are high,
But beware when they start to descend.
It's then that those louses go back to their spouses,
Diamonds are a girl's best friend.

I've heard of affairs that are strictly platonic,
But diamonds are a girl's best friend.
And I think affairs that you must keep liaisonic are better bets
If little pets get big baguettes.
Time rolls on and youth is gone and you can't straighten up when you bend
But stiff back or stiff knees you stand straight at... Tiffany's!..

Diamonds... diamonds...
I don't mean rhinestones!
But diamonds are a girl's... best friend!

Diamonds are forever,
They are all I need to please me,
They can stimulate and tease me,
They won't leave in the night,
I've no fear that they might desert me.
Diamonds are forever,
Hold one up and then caress it,
Touch it, stroke it and undress it,
I can see every part,
Nothing hides in the heart to hurt me.

I don't need love,
For what good will love do me?
Diamonds never lie to me,
For when love's gone,
They'll luster on.

Diamonds are forever,
Sparkling round my little finger.
Unlike men, the diamonds linger;
Men are mere mortals who
Are not worth going to your grave for.

I don't need love,
For what good will love do me?
Diamonds never lie to me,
For when love's gone,
They'll luster on.

Diamonds are forever, forever, forever.
Diamonds are forever, forever, forever.
Forever and ever.

Be brave, have good friends!

Million Dollar Things

One of my laziest days. My English lessons started on 3 p.m., and I got out of my bed only approximately on 2.15. And yes, I still don't feel it's my vacation. Tomorrow after I see my mom off on the plane and have some beauty rest with my friend, I'll have a concert - is it called "vacation"?

Symphonies

Right now I've just come back having a walk with Dasha. It's a hell hard pouring rain outside! When Dasha left me, I was on my way all alone, no one around, darkness, and the rain was so hard I even could drink just opened my mouth. But before it rained I had a lovely day with my Cherry Lady who I hadn't seen for more than a month! We didn't chanced to meet after my Birthday, and only yesterday I decided to write her about our meeting. And today we had a really good time together, that's nice. But when I was going to my rehearsal after our meeting, I understood we hadn't taken a photo! We like taking photos, but, apparently, today is not the day.
A day after tomorrow my mom will leave our holy island for about 3 weeks to visit her friend in Ukraine and have a course in Moscow.
I've just run into a funny guy doing stand up. I think you're gonna love this. The guy is Dylan Moran, he's got a lot of performances, so here you go browsing the Internet. He's hilarious, isn't he?

For tomorrow's English lesson I have to read "Nightmares and Dreamscapes - Introduction" by Stephen King. Though to my mind I'm absolutely not able to do it now, probably I'll read a couple of pages right now eating cereals with milk. Food of God!
Yesterday (I suppose, it was yesterday) I watched an Argentine tango by Elizabeth Berkley and Valentin Chmerkovskiy from the current season of "Dancing With The Stars" U.S. You know, I follow Amber Riley and Derek Hough performances, and there I decided to watch Elizabeth and Valentin's dance, because I just like Argentine tango.

Frankly speaking mostly I liked not even their dance, but the song they'd chosen. It's "Symphony 6: Fair Thee Well & The Requiem Mix" by Emily Wells. Basically she has 10 songs composing together and called symphonies. An interesting fact is that the titles of the songs are rhymed, and not among all 10 titles, but inside one title: "Symphony 1 In The Barrel Of A Gun", "Symphony 2 & The Click Boom Boom" and so on. My favourite symphonies are the 6th and the 8th - "Symphony 8 & The Canary's Last Take". They are the songs of the day, certainly. But somehow I can't find the 8th symphony, so do it yourself :)

Fair thee well and the requiem mix
I got a loan shark and a quick fix,
for those I left behind, in a suit case of fire flies,
find ya, I wanna treat you right,
never leave you beggin and cryin.
Coming down the mountain in a wet carriage,
full speed like a spent marriage.
I got more than enough to keep me whole.
For once I’m not slightly out of control.
Got crazy dreams when it breaks morning,
everyday, a requiem.
These morning dreams are just like memories:
Late night, starring through the trees.
I got words for this and the way it fits:
It’s all about the light and the sound around it.
Fair thee well and the requiem mix
I got a feather bed and a couple of tricks,
for those I left behind

Be brave

The Elegance of History

I've surrounded myself with historical tests, books, downloaded some documentaries and started working hard ("work-work-work-work-working on my shiiit"). I've written one test and scored only 22 points. It means I need 10 more points just to pass, but it's still too low. I just need to realize that I have damn too little time, organize that little time to fill my lucid mind with all the information I'll ever need.
