I'm ready to write the whole post with Caps Lock on, but I'm a good girl, so I'll be polite and let you read an adequate text.
Sooo, as you may understand on reading the title, today I've start snowboarding for the very first time! I won't describe how it boiled down to my snowboarding today, I say only that I hadn't expected riding today. At least tomorrow, but the destiny decided "You shall not wait!" (fortunately, I'd decided to wear sport clothes) and here I went with the equipment rent at the place. BTW, I was given a super nice board, exactly for my style.
I was taught by Ira, a relative of my bestie Dasha, who being taught and riding with me too. But, in contrast to me, it was already her 2nd time snowboarding. I could joined her that time, but I saved money for mom's present. Tomorrow I won't ride again, I'll give my muscles some rest, and my mom and I will congratulate my dad with The Motherland Defender's Day - a holiday for men before International Women's Day. But, turning back to snowboard talk, I hope we'll have the same nice time the next week.
So Ira shows me basic things - how to get up, how to slide straight, not in regular or Goofy stances, I just don't know how it's called in English, and how to turn from that straight position to one of the stances and back. I though it was too early for me to ride a stance already and I was a bit afraid of increasing pace, so every time I couldn't turn my body straight, I slightly landed the ground. But next time I'll try to ride Goofy (I guess, it's my stance) for longer time.I was enormously glad I didn't hurt any part of my body, because Dasha and one more girl I know had hurt their extremities at their first snowboarding time. There weren't fractures, but it was damn close to that.
I must thank this Winter Olympics in Sochi, because I'd never followed snowboard events before, and my friend and I became real fans of it. Choosing among snowboarding styles I fell for slopestyle, to my mind it's the most interesting and catching.
