This Girl Is On Fire

ATTN PLEASE! You know how I ADORE to be lazy, especially about writing. That's why it's gonna be a great celebration in my mind if I ever finish this post, so right now I won't even bother myself with timing. All you need to know is that I'd been writing that about two weeks ago, on the 25th-26th of October. So just follow some fancy points on my lifetime happened to me since then, some that I still remember.

Lazy crazy days... I've realized that since Monday I've been waking up with my alarm clock, so that means my days aren't so lazy, I have plans.

Wasted Or Not?

Okay, it's the middle of my winter vacation, and what does it mean? Every day I sleep till it's lunch time or even later, I've gone for a walk only once (not counting the 1st of January), I don't study anyhow for my tutors and school. I watch old and new episodes of "Sherlock" BBC being shown by our central TV channel. BTW, the 1st episode of the 3rd season is just madness. Madness, mixed with drugs and the fandom's wishes.

My family. New Year edition

Of course, I was listening to the chiming clock announcing the New Year with my family. We had fun taking photos. The most hilarious part was when my dad tried to take a photo of us with my elder sister's tablet.
After the midnight of the new year some of my friends and I gathered together and went for a walk as we had done a year before, but there were only 6 people! So we went to the main New Year's trees of our city and came back to the place of the meeting.

We walked till 3 a.m., and then the boys went somewhere-I-didn't-give-a-shit ('cause it was without us), and we, girls, went to Dasha's yard to go on having fun. I stayed at Dasha's place for the whole night (and morning, all in all - till 4 p.m.), and my friend and I drank enough not to remember all the jokes we made. Moreover, we tried watching "Magic Mike", but it fell though. LOL

On my way home I took a video about snow, because Denis from LA had asked me to - they have only rains there, whereas here we have a freaking lot of snow. BTW, here's the link, if you know Russian.
And if you guess my 1st of January finished with making that video, you lose. Only having come home, I was called by my class teacher asking:
- Where are you?
- I'm home.
- What are you doing there?
- Me? At home? Well... I've just come from Dasha...
- Really? So, ring round everyone, and I'll wait you all at "Cherry Bar" on 5 p.m., everything's ordered.
- But how? In one hour? Why didn't you call even later??
- Oh yeah, I could ring you up in 30 minutes before the meeting.
So I called my friends, went ran to Dasha again, and together we took a taxi to the bar. I was called again and again by my friends wondering WTF was happening, but even I hardly had an idea. When Dasha and I finally got to the bar, we had to wait for a pretty long time until firstly the friends, I called to, came, and even later my class teacher, some our friends and some parents of them got to the place too. There we mostly sang various songs, ate a little bit, those, who wanted, drank. Generally, it was a nice party, so homey and cozy.
And only after that I finally got home, made my snow video and sort out my New Year's gifts. Dasha granted me a cool mag looking like a Canon lens and "ARTPOP" album by Lady Gaga. Woo-hooo!

My girls presented my some festive souvenirs - always a safe bet. Also I got a present from Ilya, which is pretty strange for a girl. It is a PC game "Empire: Total War". I immediately installed it in the evening on coming home. Having been brought up with "Civilization V", I only get used to "Total War" world, even though I've already tried "Napoleon: Total War" out.

Installing "Empire..." made me come back to Steam. Of course, I used it when I played "Civilization" during summer 2012, but then I put it off and forgot my password. I tried hard to recalled it or restore my account anyhow, but after all my efforts I gave up and said goodbye to my "Civilization" and all money I'd paid for that. But only today, if I've got a new account, I've bought "Civilization V" again (online now, with a cool reduction - thanks to this festive season), with all additions I'd had that time. And right now it's downloading YYYAAAAASSS!!! *O* [Yup, I love strategies]

And noooow I'm ready to watch new season of SHERLOCK! YAS AGAIN! The premier here is a bit later that in London or in Europe part of Russia, but here I go - watching one of the coolest series of our time.

The Day of Tom Hiddleston. Midnight in Paris. Cannes.

I've just watched the movie "Midnight in Paris" by incredible Woody Allen. Oh, the film is maarvellous! ("The kiki is maarvellous") I've watched it certainly because of Tom Hiddleston. Then I've found out beautiful Marion Cotillard and Rachel McAdams take the parts there. In general, the movie's simply fabulous, "Midnight in Paris" received an enthusiastic critical response. For the next part of the discription let's go to the Wikipedia:

Taking place in Paris, the film follows Gil Pender, a screenwriter, who is forced to confront the shortcomings of his relationship with his materialistic fiancée and their divergent goals, which become increasingly exaggerated as he travels back in time each night at midnight. The movie explores themes of nostalgia and modernism. Thanks to the site, I'll continue. The movie mentions a lot of great people of that "lost generation": Francis Scott Fitzgerald (Tom Hiddleston) and his wife Zelda, Ernest Hemingway, Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí and others. 

BTW, the film made its debut at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. "Midnight in Paris" won several cool prizes, including an Oscar, a Golden Globe and a Grammy. Isn't it great?

Well, the movie's blended perfectly with my thoughts about Mr. Fitzgerald and his Gatsby, Mr. Hiddleston and Festival de Cannes. A coincidence or destiny?

Soon I'll learn to distinguish films by Allen from others, because it's the 2nd movie by this famous director I've seen; the 1st one is "To Rome With Love" starring Alec Baldwin, cute Jesse Eisenberg, Penélope Cruz and Woody Allen himself. My mom and I was laughing a lot watching it.

What about other Allen's works, so I want to watch "Vicky Cristina Barcelona".

This is my second post for the day, and this is the second time I mention Tom Hiddleston. Let me remember what movies starring him I've seen:

• The first time I saw Tom at all was "War Horse" with Benedict Cumberbatch. Hiddleston played Captain Nicholls, and I didn't know that cute guy is OMG TOM HIDDLESTON
• The second time I ran into this actor was "The Avengers". I watched the movie with my friend in the cinema and told her: "Hey, I've already seen him with Benedict!"
• Then I started to familiarize with the world of Marvel and the world of Tom Hiddleston, so the next movie I watched was "Thor". Generally, it's rediculous I watched "Thor", "Iron Man" and "The Captain America" only after "The Avengers". It's the nature of me.
• And here goes "Midnight in Paris" - my today's exploration

I know there's a big BBC project "The Hollow Crown" based on the plays by William Shakespeare, and Mr. Hiddleston appears there as Henry V, but shame on me, I watched only the 1st part of the series - a film about Richard II played by Ben Whishaw. Yeah, now you know why I watched. When I was watching it I thought it's a little bit boring, but now I understand it's so great.

If you think I like every film I watch, so you go a wrong path. For example, I definitely dislike "Marmaduke". Definitely. It's dull in my oppinion.

Well well well, also today we talk about Cannes! Yesterday I scrolled through some photos from the red carpet of the Festival paying my attention to the dresses. I hope I'll find an idea for my prom's dress. Yes, I know it'll be only in a year, but time goes by so fast. So here's some looks I like:

The black dress on Audrey Tautou is my favourite. I'd like to have something like this, but not black. I don't know what colour I want, but not black. And yes, 2 last dresses look alike very much, but anyway they're different. Girls understand.

Moreover, while Thomas has fun in France, Ian Somerhalder had fun in Moscow a day or two ago. Today I'm going to watch a late night show with him.

Undisclosed Desires

Hi there!
I couldn't use my Internet for a couple of days because I didn't pay for it on time. But here I go.
On Sunday my music friend, a school leaver, had a "last bell". It means they don't have lessons anymore and wait and prepare till their final exams. She'd invited our mutual music friend and me, but we couldn't come.
Also that day my "godbrother" had his Birthday, he turned 17. Actually I didn't want to go there, but his mother and he himself had simply forced me. Well, I was bored again.
Today I've spend my day off (not holiday yet) with my music friend (not a school leaver). We've been watching the 1st season of "Sherlock" BBC, but we haven't finished. Anyway we've had a good time, it's been so nice! She's shown me some cool videos I didn't watched because of my laziness.
Some days ago I discovered cool YouTube guys named "Pentatonix". They sing a capello their own compositions and make covers. I found out them with this one:

Aren't they cute? "Pentatonix" has won a glut of prizes in various competitions.

Tomorrow I'll have a day off too, but it doesn't cancel my English lesson. The day after tomorrow I'll have the last day of education, and TA-DA! Here comes our summer holidays!!! 

Talking about summer, I must admit the weather outside has got much better during last weekend. I can say it's even hot. For May on Sakhalin. I can't wait to wear my new clothes.

And the song of the day... Has "Undisclosed Desires" by unbelievable "Muse" already been TSOTD? Even if yes, today they're on top too.

 

I think this song's dedicated to "1984" too as well as "Resistance" and many songs from the album "The Resistance". This book had effected on the guys a lot that time.

Poems' Day

Sometimes I run into the pictures with beautiful verses, and I feel like sharing them with you. I don't know the authors, they just appear in my Internet space. Yeah, I admit the poems are pretty sad, but it doesn't spoil their tenderness.

I also want to get you my favourite poem "The Tyger" by William Blake. The poet even made an illustration. You see, here's the original Y in 'Tyger' and the punctuation, but later editions, of course, have done it our way. No matter what, enjoy "The Tyger".

There're some audio versions of Shakespeare's sonets and other different poems in my Reader, read by my favourite British actors: Devid Tennant, Tom Hiddleston, Ben Whishaw, Benedict Cumberbatch and Andrew Scott. It's useful listening to the original English language recorded by native speakers (so sexy native speakers) and trying to understand every tiny thing. Plus, I can't help listening to it when I'm sleepless or nervous - nice rich deep male voices always work wonders with the women. 

And here's Mr. Devid Tennant performing for you Sonet 12 by William Shakespeare. Oh, he sits like a machine, but his words fly away.

Also I can't miss our Russian literature and my favourite Russian poets - Mikhail Lermontov and Alexander Blok. Russian writers and poets have probably never had easy life, so didn't have these two.

A girl sang a song in the temple's chorus,

And certainly, exercising my rights as a would-be musician, I can't deny many songs have really nice lyrics. And vice versa - there's a glut of cases when a poem has become a decent song. At least, I can warrant Russian music area.

If you're still looking forward to the song of the day, so it'll be an adorable song "The Man I Love" by Ella Fitzgerald. No, it's not the same song which Lana Del Rey sings. But you should pay your attention even more to Ella's song, Ella Fitzgerald is The Queen of jazz. We must give her due, because singing jazz is a hard deal, however easy and funny it may look. I definitely love it.

In The Land Of Gods And Monsters

TODAY IS 12.12.12!! WHOOOOOHHHO!
I'm so tired, I want to sleeeep! Though I've though I slept enough today. But I must do my homework for physics; this year I've never done it before because my marks have been good, but now I've found out my total mar won't be excellent, though it HAS TO BE excellent. So I've decided to do my physics homework well and get some high marks.
Tomorrow it'll be already traditional Movies-Thursday with my friend Ruben, and we'll watch "Third Star" starring Benedict Cumberbatch! So interesting to know what the film is.

As I wanted, I've picked out the accompaniment of "Stay" by Rihanna feat. Mikky Ekko on the piano by ear and found some chords in the Internet! Yeeaaah! I can play it on the pianooo! :D

The song of the day will be "Gods And Monsters" by Lana Del Rey. It's sooo deep and gorgeous song...

Not The Best Day Ever

This day has been aweful. After the 2nd lesson I've started melting as an ice-cream and all my day I've spend as a sausage. 

By the results I'm on the 4th place for Russian's Olimpiad. Well, I've done everything I could. But I'm a winner for English, literature and sociology. Whiihooo!

Soon it'll be a festival in my school, and its rehearsals "bother" me A LOT. Though I've already written it.

The song of the day will be "Again And Again" by a cool duet "the bird and the bee". I listen to one their song "Polite Dance Song", but I found them more just yesterday. 

Also I've found a VERY INTRESTING BLOG. It's called "Work In Progress", its owner is Joe Grunenwald. Joe is an aspiring writer from the Midwest. He grew up on a steady diet of comic books and cartoons, and wouldn't mind one day making those. You know, just for fun. - according to the info from the blog. Here's the link:

The start of the summer

My days go lazy, but pretty fast. Sometimes I may all my day spend laying in bed with my lovely laptop, but sometimes I'm outside for a whole day with my adorable friends rocking out the streets and coffeshops. In general my holydays have almost begun. Why almost? Because I've still been passing my exams, and already tomorrow I'll pass my 3rd examination - Russian. I don't worry as well as before English. 

But it's actually hot outside, it's quite unusual for our place this time. The weather always gets cold in the begining of June on Sakhalin because of the glaciers from the north. They melt in the end of May, then swim to the south part of our island and bring with themselves cold wind. Therefore it's usually cold this time here. But this year is totally different! I don't know what to wear, so hot! And unfortunately I broke my sunglasses 2 weeks ago! :( And also my mom says the weather will colder. BUT DON'T BELIEVE HER! DON'T LISTEN TO HER, BLOODY WEATHER!

And yesterday I watched one more film from "Marvel" Studios - "Captain America: The First Avenger". Is it normal I watch all those films ("Iron Man" 1-2, "Thor", "Captain America") after watching "The Avengers"? I don't care, because probably soon I'll watch "The Avengers" one more time. And also right now I can understand "The Avengers" having watched the other films of "Marvel", because my favourite "Doctor Who" teaches me how to compare spaces of time in the correct order. I guess I only need watch "The Incredible Hulk" for my whole notion of the Marvel Universe. 

And the song of the day was found by me in the post of the group in a Russian social network with the photos of an amazing man! You won't believe, but everything today leads to "Marvel". Because the man is my new passion, though not new - I saw him for the first time in "War Horse". I wonder you already know who he is. :) Yeah, he is Tom Hiddleston. And the song of the day is "That Man" by Caro Emerald. Caro Emerald is a Dutch jazz singer. She's so cool! So, here's Tom and a music video for "That Man".

Also I've got a really incredible picture! My friend sent me it, I guess it's from Tumblr. But I have to say it lacks of Andrew Scott. And maybe Ben Whishaw. But all other my favourite British actors are here.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy

Today I've bought a DVD disc with the film "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy". Yes, I haven't watched it in the cinema! But tomorrow I will watch the film by my laptop.









So, I want to watch "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" because of Gary Oldman and Benedict Cumberbatch, certainly! And I love much stories about agents;)

In October 1973, Control, the head of British Intelligence ("the Circus"), sends agent Jim Prideaux to Hungary to meet a Hungarian general who wishes to sell information. The operation is blown and a fleeing Prideaux is shot in the back by Hungarian intelligence. Amid the international incident that follows, Control and his right-hand man George Smiley are forced into retirement. Control, already ill, dies soon afterwards.

A new dentist / Lennon Naked

There is a new dentist in our school. He is sooo cuuute! Well, he's not young. Well, I don't really know, and I don't mean anything!! But he's much better than the past dentist. An old woman was angry and nasty! In general I hope a new dentist isn't just a student.

Oh, what about The Beatles?! Today I've watched "Lennon Naked" by BBC. And to tell the truth I like that film only because of Christopher Eccleston and Andrew Scott. I am just shocked!! It's not a light movie - it's  a real drama. I'm scared... Why? I don't know.
